The Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE) and its European Chapter are proud to announce the 58th International Symposium, taking place in Reading, United Kingdom, from 18 to 23 July 2027.
Hosted by the SFTE European Chapter, the 2027 edition will be a joint symposium bringing together SFTE International and the European Chapter, uniting the global flight test community around a shared passion, a common profession and a commitment to advancing flight test engineering.
Flight testing has always been an international endeavour. Modern aerospace programmes increasingly rely on collaboration between nations, industries, military organisations, research institutions and test centres. Different expertise, perspectives and experiences come together to tackle complex challenges and push the boundaries of aerospace technology.
The 2027 Symposium aims to embody this spirit of cooperation, providing a platform for flight test professionals from around the world to connect, exchange knowledge, share lessons learned and explore the challenges shaping the future of our profession.
From multinational development programmes and joint flight test campaigns to emerging technologies, innovative methodologies, instrumentation, data analysis and certification, the Symposium will celebrate the value of collaboration in making flight testing stronger, safer and more effective.
Our theme reflects the belief that, despite different nationalities, organisations, backgrounds and professional experiences, we are united by a common mission.
Flight test engineering is built on the exchange of knowledge, mutual trust and the willingness to learn from one another. The challenges we face may differ, but the principles that guide our work remain shared.
By bringing together professionals from across the international flight test community, we aim to strengthen existing relationships, create new connections and encourage the collaboration needed to address tomorrow's challenges.
Borders may define countries, organisations and institutions, but they should never limit the exchange of knowledge or the progress of our profession.
The 2027 tagline captures the spirit and ambition of this joint Symposium.
TEST STRONGER represents our commitment to technical excellence, continuous improvement and professional development. It is about challenging established practices, pushing boundaries, embracing innovation and constantly raising the standards of flight test engineering.
STAY TOGETHER represents the strength of our international community. Progress does not happen in isolation. It comes from sharing experience, supporting one another, building lasting professional relationships and working collectively across national and organisational boundaries.
Together, these two messages express what SFTE stands for: a community that grows stronger through collaboration and advances through shared knowledge and experience.
Whether you are an experienced flight test engineer, a test pilot, an aerospace researcher, an industry professional or an emerging talent, the 58th International Symposium is an opportunity to contribute to the discussions shaping the future of flight testing.
Join colleagues and friends from around the world for a week of technical exchange, professional networking and international collaboration.
In July 2027, Reading will become the meeting point of the global flight test community.
Let's bring our expertise together, strengthen our connections and move our profession forward.
TEST STRONGER. STAY TOGETHER.
