Theme: “Dreams and Hard Realities in Flight Test”
The SFTE European Chapter invites authors to submit papers for the 38th Annual Symposium, taking place in Berlin from 8 to 10 June 2026.
This year’s theme — “Dreams and Hard Realities in Flight Testing” — explores the space where visionary concepts meet the constraints, challenges, and truths of real-world testing.
We encourage submissions that highlight innovation, lessons learned, and the balance between ambition and engineering discipline.
Topics of Interest Include (but are not limited to):
Emerging and disruptive aerospace technologies
Innovative test methods and test campaign execution
Lessons learned from complex or high-risk test programs
Data analysis, modelling, and simulation advances
Human factors and operational considerations
Case studies bridging futuristic ideas with practical realities
Certification, safety, and regulatory challenges in modern testing

Abstract Submission Closed — 14 March 2026
The call for abstracts for the 37th Annual Symposium of the Society of Flight Test Engineers European Chapter is now closed.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all authors who submitted their work. The response from the flight-test community has been exceptional, and the number of abstracts received exceeded our expectations.
Our technical review team is currently evaluating all submissions to select the papers that will form the technical programme for the symposium in Berlin.
All authors will be contacted in the coming weeks regarding the outcome of the review process.
We look forward to welcoming the selected presenters and delivering a strong, engaging, and forward-looking technical programme for the flight-test community.
